I was raised in St. Cloud and have several ideas that will make this city a great place for generations to come!

Notable Achievements

  • General Manager in the restaurant and retail industry for over 20 years.
  • Current Contributing Writer at CFL Political Voice
  • Former Writer for the Osceola News Gazette
  • Former City of St. Cloud Parks and Recreation Committee Member
  • Member of the Osceola County School Board School Safety Advisory Group
  • Current City of St. Cloud Economic Development Advisory Committee member
  • Member of the volunteer group “Keep Osceola Beautiful”, which focuses on our City’s natural beauty and organizes clean ups.
  • Member of the group “Save Saint Cloud”, a group of 5 local residents that do volunteer work, champion clean water, and hold our elected leaders accountable.

I grew up in the St. Cloud “Manor”, and was part of the first graduating 8th grade class out of Neptune Middle School.  I graduated St. Cloud High School in 1994.

After High School, I embarked on a career in the restaurant industry where I became a Store Manager, running my first restaurant at the age of 21. In my early 30’s, I decided to change my path and began to work in retail, where I have worked for CVS Pharmacy for the last 14 years.

I enjoy art, writing, nature, fishing, politics, cookouts, family, and friends.  I volunteer as a member of Keep Osceola Beautiful, which focuses on keeping our natural environment clean, and Save Saint Cloud, a group of 5 local residents that volunteers to clean up our town, champions clean water, and holds our elected leaders accountable.

I also volunteer on various boards and committees within the City of St. Cloud and Osceola County. In my free time, I ride a Harley and have been an Orlando Magic fan since the team started back in 1989. I am married to my beautiful wife Bethany, and together we have 4 kids. Nathan, Nicholas, Victoria, and Farrah.

My parents, Thomas and Rachele, still live in the St. Cloud Manor in the same house I grew up in, and many of my extended family live and work in St. Cloud.

I decided to run for Council to help ensure St. Cloud continues the same quality of life for my children and family that I experienced in my youth.

I believe “Celebrating Small Town Life” needs to be protected at all costs, as that is what makes our town a special place, why our community is so strong, and why people want to live here.

The last few years have shown that there are those in power that want to throw away that “Small Town Feel” and remake it into the “Centerplace” of massive urban sprawl with “Big City” aspirations.
On November 8, 2022, Get onboard and elect Tom Lord to the St. Cloud City Council to protect and ensure the future of St. Cloud and “Small Town Life”.

What I Stand For

St. Cloud is home to me and my family so I aim to lead programs that will make lasting, impactful changes in our community.

Get Onboard with Tom Lord!

For years, St. Cloud and the surrounding cities have been plagued with overpopulation, water issues, rapid development, and more.

During my time in city council, I plan to do my part to end these challenges by leading efforts to fix our water treatment processes, address the rapid growth and overpopulation issues, and overall, make St. Cloud a place future generations can be proud of.

What I Plan To Fix

St. Cloud is a beautiful place, but there are some major issues that need our immediate attention if it's going to continue being a great place to live.

Clean Water

There is no excuse. We must have clean, drinkable water. We must get off the MIEX resin system, especially after the failure at Plant 4.

Infrastructure

The past 2 years have shown that we must find a way to fix problems that arise before they turn into serious disasters.

Limit Growth

The BOCC and St. Cloud City Council have let the tract developers go “buck wild” throughout St. Cloud and surrounding areas in Unincorporated Osceola (St. Cloud).

City Code

I have seen too many times watching our Council many residents and small local businesses going before the Council to complain about Code Enforcement or about harassment by Code Enforcement.

Strengthen Emergency Services

They are there for us when we need them, we need to continue to be there for them. We are lucky to have such amazing Police Officers, Fire Fighters, and Emergency Personnel.
